WELCOME TO ROCHESTER BLIND BOWLING GROUP - AND OUR WEBSITE
RBBG, Rochester Blind Bowling Group, is a gathering of blind & visually impaired bowlers, from in and around the Medway Towns, in Kent. We play for fun, though we like to win - against one another or outside opposition!
There is a description of how blind bowlers are given clear directions to help them bowl accurately (How blind people play the sport of Bowls).
NEWS
In the news section, you will find articles about matches we have played and a broad variety of articles, about the club, the members and what they have been getting up to! The club has recently 're-branded' and reformed, as RBBG, Rochester Blind Bowling Group, and with our newly adopted shirts, our team members look impressive, as they step onto the green.
Bowls - On the Green and Indoors! As the summer season came to a close, we published a review of how we fared on the green. There are links to our fixtures and all match reports. During the winter season, most of our bowling time is spent indoors, at Prince Arthur Bowling Club. During this time, there will be less in the way of news, but whenever a newsworthy event occurs, it will be reported in the news section.
COMPETITION
The club also runs a number of knockout cup competitions, throughout the year. You will find RBBG Cup, RBBG Shield and Pearl (indoor) Cup results and reports in this section. Find out which RBBG bowlers won honours in competition - including this year's Gravesham Cup
QUIZTIME
On the website, there are regular prize quizzes. Hopefully, these will appear in this section, in the very near future. Answers and prize winners will be published here, too.
THE GALLERY
The Gallery provides a chance to view photos of our members in action. Visitors can either watch a Slide Show of all pictures or go to the collection to view individual photos and view enlarged images. A new departure, in The Gallery, is a page devoted to art based on our bowlers, RBBG Art. Initially, you will see sketches, but later ...
HELP
It is quite often that visually impaired people miss out on services or other provision, to which they are entitled - but of which they are, sadly, unaware. In this section, we try to bring some of these to your attention - and how to apply for them.
LAST END
The Last End, is what it says, a hotch-potch of miscellaneous items, including interest articles - in fact, anything our members would like to add to the website - about bowls or anything else! Appropriate contributions are always welcome.
