RBBG Quiz No 15 - Roamin' Numerals (Answers at bottom of page)
Welcome to our latest quiz. This time, for a change, the questions are about numbers – in fact Roman Numerals. The system uses letters to stand for numbers, for example, Henry VIII was Henry the 8th. The number values are as follows:
I = 1, V = 5, X = 10, L = 50, C = 100, D = 500 and M = 1000
Other letters, A, B, E, F, ... Y and Z are worth nothing!
Here are some examples:
LID = 50 + 1 + 500 = 551 ... DID = 500 + 1 + 500 = 1001 ... HIDE = 0 + 1 + 500 + 0 = 501
