ABOUT RBBG RBBG, Rochester Blind Bowling Group, is a gathering of blind & visually impaired bowlers, from in and around the Medway Towns, in Kent. We play for fun, though we like to win - against one another or outside opposition!
There is a graphic description of how blind bowlers are given clear directions to help them bowl accurately (How blind people play the sport of Bowls).
Of course, our members have other interests, including music, art, holidays, visiting interesting places, good food, beer, quizzes ... and much, much more. Below, you will find links to just some of the things we get up to!
NEWS & REPORTS In this section, find match reports form wherever we play a match - are a review of a visit, event or anything achieved by members of our group ... not necessarily bowls!
BOWLS As the summer season comes to a close, we collect our woods and practise our skills indoors, at Prince Arthur Bowling Club. During this time, we play matches against indoor clubs.
During the summer, we are fortunate in having our very supportive hosts at Cranborne Bowling Club. It is so valuable to have such a close link between the two clubs. The summer months are the time when we travel across the county to play matches against several clubs, each year.
COMPETITION The club also runs a number of competitions, throughout the year. Under this banner, our bowlers compete for trophies, both indoors and on the green. The Couples Competition takes place indoor, whilst the Isabella Williams and the John Wadsworth competitions are held outdoors - and the prize in each case is a coveted shield.
QUIZTIME Our club issues frequent quizzes. When possible, each quiz is posted online. We have produced nearly 50 original and varied quizzes - look for the latest teaser very soon!
THE GALLERY The Gallery provides a chance to view photos of our members in action. You can either watch a Slide Show of all pictures or go to the collection to view individual photos and view enlarged images.
LAST END The Last End, is what it says, a hotch-potch of miscellaneous items, including interest articles - in fact, anything our members would like to add to the website - about bowls or anything else! Appropriate contributions are always welcome.

And the warming lunchtime snacks at Journey’s End, bacon baguettes prominent, plus the warmth of our hosts’ reception, more than compensated for the huge confusions induced by Brian’s admin. Most of the assembled company remained unaffected, perhaps even unaware, but Marian, Tom and Bruce were left to play a friendly rollup with Ashford’s Michelle. They all took it in good part – much appreciated by Brian, whose punishment included a lack of time to indulge in the aforementioned bacon baguettes, and most of you will know how that would have hurt. ...
