Regular visitors to this site will be fully aware that RBBG members (and volunteers) enjoy a wide variety of activities and interests. One such is Pat Clements, who has enjoyed a long association with the blind bowling group, but is also a keen member of the Gillingham Male Voice Choir. Chris joined the audience, attending the choir's latest concert, and gave his opinion of the evening's entertainment, here:
Two days before the Isle of Wight trip, one of our members who sings with Gillingham Male Voice Choir, took part in a concert, at the Central Theatre. The choir was appearing with the band of the British Legion.
Five intrepid holiday makers attended. Pat and Terry Fisher, Bella and friend Lillian, and Chris were treated to some very stirring tunes from the band and some very fine singing by the choir.
As an ex-choral singer, myself, I was particularly impressed by the programme. Some of the items left the choir very exposed with the band accompanying, only at the beginning and at the end. So, there was every chance for the choir to go flat, but not a bit of it. Spot on! Well done to Pat Clements and the members of Gillingham Male Voice Choir
