Penny and Julie v Tony and Mark

Penny and Julie started this semi-final match very slowly and allowed Tony and Mark to race into a 6-0 lead after 4 ends. After losing two shots on the first end Penny did ask a question in the second, which Mark answered with a shot to within 1ft of the jack. The fourth end had everyone finding their range and with five woods all around the jack a measure gave the end to Mark and Tony.

The fifth end started the fight back by Julie and Penny. With the jack length at 27yds Tony drew his first would within 2ft but both Julie and Penny drew one wood each closer to the jack to get the ladies on the score board. One shot was taken on the sixth end and with Julie putting up a 35yd jack on the next end the ladies were holding three shots until Mark drew second shot with his last wood of the end. The score was now 6-4 to the men.

The eighth end saw the jack placed at 29yds and Julie drew to within 3ft but Mark, with his first wood, drew closer to take the end.
The score was now 7-4 to Mark and Tony, so Penny and Julie required three shots to force an extra end. Julie drew two shots and whilst Penny was initially in the count Mark made sure that only two shots were won by the ladies.

The final score was 7-6 to Mark and Tony. Penny and Julie fought hard to counteract their slow start but in the end it was too much of a hill to climb and Mark and Tony did enough to hold them off. A good game played by all four players.
